We typically have 2 practice sessions a day with 2.5 hours of training per session
(5 hours total court time per day)
Some camps need to adjust these times due to gym space availability.
Typical camp times (Camps can vary):
Each practice session typically begins with a fun and energetic warm- up. We have a lot of silly games that the kids can laugh with and most importantly start practice with positive energy. We will demonstrate different styles of stretching and proper body mechanics. PCV believes that flexibility and body maintenance go a long way in preventing injuries and are essential for a healthy lifestyle. Our different theories include: Static, ballistic, and dynamic stretching with other styles adapted from disciplines like yoga and the martial arts.
Our PCV staff believes that quality repetitions should equal quality results. I have trained our staff to teach the basic and essential skills in order to make your athletes fundamentally educated in the sport of volleyball. Our goal is to keep things simple while providing an entertaining and challenging learning environment. We typically introduce a skill through a demonstration of the basic concepts and specific body mechanics associated with the skill. We then have your athletes practice each particular skill in a series of controlled drills that are guaranteed to get results. Our staff will focus on the importance of footwork and proper muscle memory of each skill.
It is important for our PCV staff to evaluate the basic levels of your athletes in order to challenge and progress each drill. We want to keep each practice session realistic in order to maximize your athlete’s potentials. We will take ‘baby steps’ and build off of and progress each session in order to reach our goals. Our staff strives to build athletes who are physically strong and mentally smart on the volleyball court. We guarantee a positive and fun learning experience for everyone involved. We will work hard and have fun while we train!
